The library has a genealogy room where patrons may view microfilmed copies of the Cotulla Record from the years 1887-1991. Census records for the years 1870, 1880, 1900, and 1910 are also available for research. Thanks to the foresight and planning of former Library Director Donna Van Cleve, and a grant by the Tocker Foundation, the library now has the Frio-Nueces Current newspaper editions on microfilm for the years 1991-2005.

The library has a microfilm reader/scanner available for patron use. Newspaper articles can be scanned and sent electronically, mailed, or faxed upon request. Due to time and staff limitations, the librarian cannot do searches for patrons unless at least the year is given in seeking information. Non-resident users should call and reserve the room before traveling any distance. A computer is also available for use in the genealogy room.
Library patrons who are eligible to obtain the user name and password can also find census information through the TexShare page of this web site.
